151013 HyspIRI Science and Applications Workshop

The primary objective of this workshop will be to interact with the broad science and applications  research communities interested in VSWIR imaging spectroscopy and thermal infrared measurements of the type provided by the HyspIRI mission concept.

 

Topics for the workshop include:

- Interact with broad science and application research community

- Review HyspIRI Mission Concept efforts in 2015

- Discuss ECOSTRESS mission headed to the ISS

- Present new relevant Science and Science Applications

- Review results from the HyspIRI preparatory airborne campaign

- Announce volcano and coral reef airborne campaign

- Discuss mission concepts for smallsat compatible HyspIRI measurement options (including update of the VSWIR to 30 m spatial sampling and 16-day revisit)

- Review HyspIRI science and application traceability

- Present efforts to align HyspIRI with the Sustainable Land Imaging Program

- Prepare for next Decadal Survey and other opportunities

 

This workshop will include sessions on core HyspIRI Earth Science, Climate Variability and Response Science, Applications Research, and international HyspIRI-related activities.

 

For this Workshop, we would like to solicit contributions from you of science results (from both the US and international community) for oral and poster presentations.  If you would like to give a presentation at the workshop, please email the title and short description to Robert.O.Green@jpl.nasa.gov or Simon.J.Hook@jpl.nasa.gov.
